The uncut English editions are compiled in 16 DVD box sets, each containing 12-15 episodes, with some variation based on story arcs.

Beginning on March 28, 2006, Viz released the series on DVD. First 135 episodes from the series has also been collected in three DVD boxes during 2009. There are a total of five series, with each of the including four episodes per volume. The first DVD series has been the only one to be collected in VHS format. Įpisodes from the series have been published in DVD. After the 52nd episode, the series was removed from the schedule rotation to make room for its successor series, Naruto: Shippuden. On November 22, 2012, Adult Swim's relaunched Toonami block reran the first 52 episodes in a completely uncut format from Decemto November 23, 2013. The remaining 6 episodes in English aired in Canada on YTV from Octoto November 15, 2009. However, new episodes from the series did not air in US but the remaining episodes were collected on DVD by VIZ, which was released on September 22, 2009. On MaViz stated that they have continued dubbing new episodes and intended to see them aired on television. On September 20, 2008, Cartoon Network ended its Toonami block, but the channel continued sporadically airing episodes of Naruto in the time slots originally occupied by Toonami's programming till Februwhen episode 214, the last episode to air in US, was shown.

The 220 episodes that constitute the series were aired between Octoand Februon TV Tokyo in Japan. The English adaptation of the anime began airing on Septemon Cartoon Network's Toonami. The series centers on the adventures of Naruto Uzumaki, a young, excitable ninja of Konohagakure who constantly searches for recognition and aspires to become a Hokage, the ninja in his village that is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. 135 episodes were based on the first twenty-seven volumes, or Part I, of the manga, while the remaining 85 episodes are exclusive to the anime. The episodes have been released in North America by Viz Media. The series was directed by Hayato Date and produced by Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo. The encounter is genuinely one of the most touching sequences of the series.Naruto is an anime series based on the manga series of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto. She tells him to take care of himself and everyone else around him, and for the first time in his life, Naruto learns what it feels like to have a mother. She then tells Naruto that they didn't have a choice but to seal the Nine-Tails inside him since he's an Uzumaki like her.īefore fading away, Kushina thanks Naruto for being born and making her a mother. Kushina also tells Naruto about the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha when he was born. The two then talk and have an emotional reunion where Kushina tells Naruto how she came to meet his father and how they fell in love. Kushina, who Naruto initially assumes is an illusion, takes Naruto to another part of his mind where the Nine-Tails cannot intervene. Kushina saves Naruto during his battle with the Nine-Tails, who also recognizes her since she was his former jinchuriki. Naruto meets his mother, Kushina, in episode 246 of Naruto: Shippuden.
However, during the chakra tug-of-war and Naruto on the verge of giving up, a chakra imprint of Naruto's late mother, Kushina Uzumaki, shows up.
